McDonald’s employee bound for the Olympics

A New Hamburg woman will have a chance to see the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in person. Between work shifts that is.
Tina Drake, an employee of the New Hamburg McDonald’s, is one of 300 employees from across Canada who will head to Vancouver and Whistler as part of the McDonald’s Olympic Champion Crew.
She was chosen from over 77,000 employees to serve the world’s athletes.
“I’m very honoured to represent the store,” Drake told the Independent.
Drake will be working at one of three on-site McDonald’s restaurants.
She will be given the opportunity to attend at least one Olympic event and one Paralympic event. If scheduling allows, she will be able to see more events.
Drake will also get to participate in other activities and sightseeing.
She will spend between two weeks and a month at the games.
Drake thanked her employers for the opportunity.
“When you work for the Probers, you feel respected and appreciated,” she said.
